The objective of this training approach is to build size, strength and work on your weaknesses.
This is the ideal program for you if:
My goal for this program is to provide an all encompassing performance system for football athletes.
With this program I focus on developing the football player physically, this is not a program based around skill work because you will be doing it on the pitch.
We will isolate speed and agility work from the sport-specific work, we will not blend them together like you do in practice.
Working speed and agility in with sport-specifics can do some good, but it’s far better to elevate those
attributes in isolation.
I am not saying that we will not include sport specific drills but first we should focus on building a strong foundation without sports-specific drills first so you can isolate and elevate the physical attributes expressed on the field.
But then if you just trained in the gym, yes you might be faster and more agile but you wouldn’t retain the footballing skills to compete at a high level.
This program fills the gap that has been ignored by 99,9% of football coaches and players at every level and at every age.
Depending on the stage of the season we will focus on different components of training and we will try to improve you (especially in the off-season, pre-season and during breaks) or maintain your condition (especially during the season).
Endure the process and with my coaching and planning expertise you will be able to run your first Half Marathon distance or you will improve your time!
My approach will vary whether you are an experienced runner or a novice.
Based on your availability and commitment I will individualize a training plan to make you run a faster half marathon time!
I would also suggest to not neglect some kind of strength training and prehab during the process to always keep you in shape, injury free and to make sure that you will show up at your peak on race day!
